- Identifying what you want and NEED from your photo shoot
- Communicating with your photographer
- Planning costuming, props and details
- What you should have with you at a shoot
- What happens at the shoot itself
- Action shots vs. “posed” shots
- Finding the best angles and poses for you and your body
Teaching technique to dancers is, for the most part, straightforward. Regardless of the style—the cues become second nature for teachers and students. But articulating emotion and passion can be a struggle for teachers and even uncomfortable for some dancers to grasp and execute.
While some dancers naturally connect emotion to their movement, not everyone will “get” to move their audience. So how do you teach a dancer to emote?
We will talk about different ways to start thinking about emoting on stage including understanding why it is important to your dance, how to practice and improve your facial expressions, using your music, creating an emotional story, eye contact and more!

Basic Digital Photography is an instructional course designed to help you learn about YOUR camera. Carrie will break it down so that you feel more at ease with your camera and ability to use it! We all need the ability to take sharp and clear photos for classes, events and products. During the course students will learn how to locate and use the manual settings on their cameras to get better photos.
This course has been designed to fit within a 2-hour time frame and covers three basic areas:
1) The Photographer's Toolkit
2) Basic Understanding of Exposure
3) Choosing Camera Settings
Please bring your DSLR, instruction manual & note taking materials. You will also leave with instructional materials as well!
